Lighthouse for Jesus was started in October 1996 in Homestead, Fl area by the founder, the late Johnie L. & Dorothy F. Doctor. In the year of 2000, Pastor Walter Horn was chosen to be the Assistant Pastor. TLF is a place where the Mind, Body. And Spirit/Soul of a person can come rest in the Presence of God, Growth, and Spiritual cleansing through the washing of the Word. After 23 years of faithful service to both God and the community, in 2019 Pastor Doctor transitioned to his place in Glory. The mantle was then passed to his son and daughter in ministry entrusting them to move the vision forward. While many identify this as a changing of the guard, Pastor Walter & Elect Lady Charlotte D. Horn affectionately call this the continuation of a Watchman, “Steppin’ Out-To-Step Up, Moving From Membership To Ministry.”

Lighthouse FOR JESUS vision & mission is to become Kingdom Builders, by first
becoming Ministry minded It is our goal and mandate to effectively move the church from “ Membership Minded” to “Ministry Minded” saints. In other words
our goal is to equip men, women, and children for the work of the Ministry for edifying the body of Christ through Pauls’ outline that we effectively teach and train saints in the word of God, therefore we desire to transition ourselves from church members to becoming Ministry movers. The L.F.J. Inc, the body must, therefore, share in the spirit of the Pastor for this vision to come to pass. As Pastor & Elect Lady of L.F.J. Inc., it is our dedication to effective ministry. It is how God Measures our effectiveness in ” AN IMPERFECT CHURCH INSPIRING AN IMPERFECT PEOPLE TO SERVE A PERFECT GOD” Meeting the needs of both, the Church and the Community, therefore our mission is to guide the body L.FJ, INC. in the following areas as it pertains to effective ministry: Enlisting, Encouraging, Equipping, and Employing.
